Final Fantasy Old, Neo or Modern? Check out FFX down below!
Apparently, FFX will have battles on the explore screen, rather like Chrono Trigger! This means no "FffFSszzzZZSSf" ARRRGH I'M IN ANOTHER BATTLE!!! which we've all come to know and love from the previous FF titles.
The legendary Square RPG series has reached its tenth instalment, but was the last PlayStation adventure a mere stopgap? Final Fantasy IX was a huge disappointment. It was nowhere near the standard set by previous FF titles and while it was a good game it was also lacking a great deal. The game felt incredibly rushed and was far too easy. A simple, boring battle system and a cheap storyline destroyed the longevity. The story never went any where during discs 1, 2 and half of three but when the potentially fantastic storyline entered its climax at the end of disc 3, you were bombarded with pathetic and unoriginal plot twists which tried to make the already unepic story, epic. Perhaps Square realised the story was bad and added cheap twists because they were cut for time? Or were Square concentrating on the mighty Final Fantasy X on the PS2 and didnt care less what the last PlayStation FF game would be like?

Final Fantasy VI is probably the most well put together and replayable RPG ever. Oh, and its very good too!

All is not lost, as Square has announced that they are remaking FF7 & 8 on the PS2 along with the new FF10 & 11 and are releasing special versions of the epic FF4, 5 & 6 on the Wonderswan. More FF news soon. |
